2011/2012 ECS Season Opener - Burke MTN

Burke Mtn. - Vermont - December 10th -11th, 2011
The ECS season opener has come and gone. Montana has advanced to Sport for the 2011/2012 ECS season and this brings some tough competition. The season started with warm temps and rain canceling Fridays practice but brought cold weather and good racing Saturday and Sunday. The Onions first heat on Saturday showed him that this year is going to be harder, with him having a couple of mishaps and coming off the sled on the uphill he finished in 7th place. His second Saturday heat, Montana and #419 - Tim Slocum exchanged jabs battling for the lead. Montana finally pulled ahead, with a lap time of 23.771 and finished first. Saturdays final had good hole shots from all the top riders and Montana made an excellent move up the outside taking the top spot and left the battle behind him. Montana finished 1st with his teammate Conner Roscoe 2nd and Benjamin Vrij of Ontario placed 3rd.
Sunday, Day 2 brought in very cold weather. The team missed practice but they still took wins in the first heat. Heat two Sunday, Connor had a great start while Montana battled the pack after being driven off the track but finished 2nd after 8 laps. Sundays final, the crew had the sleds all ready to go.... #150 Conner Roscoe and 765 bumped ski's all the way to the top of the mountain with Montana having the inside edge he took the lead. Connor pushed hard to try to get by the 765 but as the laps went by Montana put some distance on the field and took the win. Thanks to the whole team of DaSilva racing; Paul, Fred and Ziggy for great sleds.....it's is nice to have fun and win. The classes Montana will be running this year will be Sport 600 and Sport Super Stock 600...
DULUTH - 2011/2012 National Season Opener

Amsoil Duluth National - November 25 -27, 2011
Montana and the crew had their hands full getting the new Ski-Doo set up for the tough competition that was headed their way. After 4 days of testing they were ready and Montana was confident that he could win. Montana went 1 & 2 in the qualifiers for the 14-15 class. He had a tough start in the final with a 8th place start but had fast lap times and he made some nice passes to get up towards the front but as he was going for second he ran into some lap traffic that kept him from getting to the leader. Montana's strong effort landed him on the podium with a 3rd place finish in the 14-15 class BUT the 16 - 17 class had Montana going 2 &1 in the qualifiers. Montana was a little frustrated with his 3rd place finish in the 14 -15 class so when the green light came on Montana took off with an outstanding hole shot and he never looked back, posting the best lap times and finished with the top spot and a great start to the season....
